Midweek on a sea early rise,
Greeting the dawn with sleepy eyes,
Feeling the summer breeze so free,
Drawn by waves at Boscombe Pier, we.
With my partner and two Surfski,
We meet our friends from Southbourne Surf Life Saving Club spree,
Together we enter the sea.
Our paddles dig deep, push water to the side.
Gliding through sun on a sea so sleek,
The diamonds shimmer lights our way,
On a flat sea surface, we sway,
Creating a shape like a tree so grand.
Heartbeats racing, breaths expand,
Our minds relax, we fully embody the sea.
Present in the moment, in our body we meet.
Gliding like creatures of the sea,
An hour of fun, wild and free.
Each Wednesday morning, our spirits soar,
Thanks to Icon Hydrus Surfski, we explore,
The world of surf life saving, bright and bold,
Moments like these, pure and gold.
