A Practical Tarot Forecast for Change
July brings a month of inner shifting. Even if you don’t follow astrology, you may still notice it in the everyday signs: restless sleep, sudden clarity, a craving to simplify, or the sense that an old version of you is quietly packing up and moving on.
If you are experiencing awakening or change, it can be unsettling, especially when you’re not sure how to ground yourself in the middle of it. So for this month’s Health & Wellbeing reading, I pulled three tarot cards with a very practical intention:
- What is coming in, energy-wise
- How you can best look after yourself
- What it is time to release
The cards that came forward were Death, 10 of Pentacles, and The Moon.
As always, you don’t need to have an understanding of tarot to take something useful from this. Think of the cards as mirrors. They reflect patterns we’re already living, then offer language for what is trying to change.
1) What is coming in: Death
Death has popped up for the second month in a row. This reappearance of the card of transformation is significant, and a clear message about the energetic shifts taking place on our planet right now. Once again, it’s pointing to an ending that clears the way for a new beginning. In July, Death suggests that many people will feel a strong internal nudge to stop forcing what no longer fits. This can present as a change of identity, where you feel you’re not who you used to be. In can also manifest as a shift in priorities with the things that mattered last year suddenly feeling less important. It may even show up as a natural closing: a habit, relationship dynamic, job role, or belief system reaching its end.
Death asks for acceptance and courage. To work with its energy, reflect on these themes:
- What is ending naturally, even if I’ve been trying to keep it alive?
- Where am I clinging because I am afraid of the unknown?
- What part of me is ready to evolve, even if my life hasn’t ‘caught up’ yet?
- What would feel like relief to let go of?
A practical way to work with Death
When change is in the air, the nervous system often reacts first. You may feel unsettled without being able to name why. A gentle approach is to focus on closure. This doesn’t mean a big conversation or a dramatic decision. Sometimes closure is simply telling the truth to yourself.
Try this:
- Choose one small area of your life that feels complete.
- Ask: What is the next right step to honour this ending?
- Take one action that signals completion: cancel a subscription, tidy a drawer, delete an old thread, donate an item, close a tab, write a final note in your journal.
Death loves a clean chapter closure. It helps you move forward without dragging the past behind you.
2) How to look after yourself: 10 of Pentacles
After Death, the 10 of Pentacles is a beautiful grounding card. It speaks of stability, support, and long-term wellbeing. In a practical sense, this card reminds us that inner growth is not only spiritual but physical, emotional, and relational. When life is changing, you need foundations.
The 10 of Pentacles can represent home and family (chosen family counts!), routines that support your health, financial steadiness and planning, and the people who have your back during transitions. It’s also the card of legacy: what you’re building over time, and why. With July bringing endings and shifts, this card says you don’t need to do it all alone. Ground yourself in what’s real, supportive, and sustainable.
Themes to reflect on
- What makes me feel safe in my body and in my life?
- Who are my people, and how can I lean on them in a healthy way?
- What daily routines genuinely support me (not punish me)?
- What am I building for my future self?
- Where do I need stronger boundaries so my energy is not constantly leaking?
A practical way to work with the 10 of Pentacles
This card invites you to treat your wellbeing like something you are investing in, gently and consistently.
Pick one area:
- Sleep: a slightly earlier bedtime, a wind-down routine, less screen time.
- Food: one nourishing meal you can rely on, hydration, steady blood sugar.
- Movement: walking, stretching, yoga, anything that helps you inhabit your body.
- Support: a check-in with a friend, therapy, a class, a circle, or a community space.
Ask yourself: What would stable feel like for me this month?
3) What it is time to release: The Moon
The Moon is a powerful card for inner growth. It speaks of the subconscious, intuition, and the parts of us that come alive in the dark: fears, dreams, old stories, and deep sensitivity. When The Moon appears it’s a signal to listen to your intuition. With the theme of release in mind, here’s what it points towards letting go:
- Confusion that keeps you stuck
- Anxiety spirals
- Old fears that are no longer true
- Projection and assumptions
- The need to have all the answers right now
The Moon often feels like walking through fog. You can still move forward, but you move slowly as your vision and hearing are impaired. (This is why you need to rely more on your intuition.) The Moon is also a reminder that awakening and change can stir up old emotions. If you’re feeling more sensitive than usual, that’s a sign of old stories bubbling up. Give yourself the space and time to work through them, and once you’ve made peace, let them go.
Here are some themes to reflect on:
- What am I afraid will happen if I change?
- What story am I telling myself, and is it definitely true?
- Where am I overthinking instead of listening to my body?
- What do I already know, quietly, beneath the noise?
- What would help me feel emotionally safe while I move through uncertainty?
A practical way to work with The Moon
The Moon asks for gentleness and honesty. It also asks for discernment. A simple practice is to separate intuition from anxiety. You can do this by pausing to listen and feeling into what you’re experiencing. Intuition tends to feel calm, clear, and neutral, while anxiety tends to be urgent, loud, and repetitive. When you notice a strong feeling, ask if it feels spacious or tight, does it bring clarity or does it spin you out, and finally, what is the kindest next step you can take. Sometimes, that kindest next step is to rest, to talk to someone, or to do something grounding.
Bringing the three cards together, here’s your energetic map for July. With Death, you remain with the energy of endings and transformation, The 10 of Pentacles encourages you to build stability and support as you continue to move through shifts, while The Moon asks you to release fear-based stories and learn to trust your inner guidance.
Remember, if you are in a season of change, there’s no need to force certainty. The most helpful thing you can do is forge a steady relationship with yourself.
A simple ritual: The July Inner Growth Reset
This is a practical, low-pressure ritual you can do at any time in July. It doesn’t call for anything fancy. If ritual is not your thing, treat it as a mindful practice instead.
What you need
- A candle (or a small light)
- A notebook and pen
- A glass of water
Step 1: Create a calm moment.
Light your candle. Place your hand on your chest or belly. Take five slow breaths.
Ask yourself: What do I need right now to feel present?
Step 2: Death, the release.
Write one sentence to complete:
- I am ready to let go of…
Now write one small action you can take this week to honour that release.
If it feels right, whisper: “I bless what is ending. I make space for what is next.”
Step 3: 10 of Pentacles, the support.
Write:
- This month, stability looks like…
- One support I can lean on is…
Take a sip of water and imagine it grounding you, like roots settling into the earth.
Step 4: The Moon, the truth beneath the fear.
Write:
- A fear that has been loud lately is…
- The kinder truth is…
Blow out the candle (or turn off the light) and say: “I don’t need to see the whole path. I only need the next step.”
Inner growth is rarely tidy. It asks us to release what is familiar, to build new foundations, and to learn how to trust ourselves in the in-between. If July feels intense, you’re not alone. Let it be a month of gentle honesty, a month where you choose support, and a month where you stop arguing with your own becoming.
Thanks for being here. I hope this month’s practice brings you support and clarity. I’ll be back in mid-August with more tarot guidance. Until then, be kind to yourself.
