Have you ever found yourself stressing about nothing?

You look at your life and you have love, friends, work, comfort, but somehow something is bothering you.

Something deep down.

You feel this uneasiness and you just wish to feel tranquil and peaceful.

What’s going on then?

What’s causing this suffering?

Perhaps it’s worth asking yourself:

When was the last time you let go?

When was the last time you gave up the need for control?

Did you experience the same feelings and emotions when you were young?

It’s totally understandable that you feel uneasy particularly when the world is changing so fast and taking unexpected directions.

The future looks uncertain and our internal need for control and safety is being challenged by all we see happening in the news every day, on social media, on TV and in newspapers.

The changes are so unpredictable and uncontrollable that experts are not even able to forecast how things will unfold.

When exposed to all this news, our ego, which strives for survival on an ongoing basis, starts firing alert messages to our mind, which then sends signals of stress to our body.

The ego is constantly in a state of alert, and this can be exhausting, impacting our life, and ultimately, our health.

The ego also clings more strongly to the need for control, but as you know, there isn’t much we can control in the end; not our environment, our work or even life itself.

The only thing we can do is to reduce the power the ego has over us and consciously make different choices in our lives.

How can we reduce the power that the ego has over us? You ask.

The first step is to belong: to participate in groups, communities or movements that resonate with us and that will allow us to move our focus to others’ needs and away from our self-centredness.

You’ve probably heard that what you focus your attention on will grow, so put your focus on others and not on yourself more often.

The second step is to consciously have positive thoughts, words and deeds.

When you consciously want to improve yourself or genuinely want to benefit others, this is a good place to start, because thinking positively, saying positive words to yourself and others, and doing a hobby or an activity that will lift your spirits will bring more happiness to your life.

The third step is releasing old patterns and beliefs and resolving shame, guilt or pain from your past.

This is probably the step that will help you most, because these can all be potential causes of pain, anxiety and stress lying dormant within us, which can be triggered at any time, either by a word, a situation or anything really that will put you back in that state of being.

Your unconscious runs your life most of the time, and it doesn’t recognise time or space, it doesn’t even recognise you as an adult, so whatever you experienced growing up, it’s still there, running in the background: both the positive and the negative.

How do you release old patterns and release the need for control?

There are several approaches that you can take, such as psychotherapy, meditation, journaling or hypnotherapy and you can choose the path that resonates most with your beliefs and preferences.

From my own experience, I have found hypnotherapy to be a powerful and effective way to overcome subconscious beliefs and patterns, particularly when it is accompanied by a personalised recording to create new and more beneficial neural pathways.

When you listen to the recording consistently, usually for 21 days, you will start having stronger positive thoughts, and the negative thoughts will get weaker and weaker.

Slowly but surely, you can become a lighter and more positive person and enjoy more moments of tranquillity and peace.

By working simultaneously on both conscious and subconscious levels, you can experience a quicker and more profound transformation.

Whenever you feel ready, take your first step towards becoming a better, lighter and freer version of yourself.

You got this!
