An Update on Her Progress In & Out of the Pool

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you for the support you have given Reese so far. Your encouragement and generosity have helped make so many opportunities possible, and we are truly grateful to every one of you.

Back in Training

As you know, Reese had a challenging end to last season following her injury. Since returning to training and rehabilitation on 19th August, we’re delighted to say that her recovery is progressing really well.

Training is steadily intensifying as she prepares for the Winter Regionals on 7th and 8th November, and she’s excited to be back working towards her goals.

A New Chapter at Sixth Form

Away from the pool, Reese received her GCSE results this summer and we are incredibly proud to share that she passed all of her subjects.

She is now three weeks into Sixth Form, studying BTEC PE, BTEC Health & Social Care, and A Level Psychology. The subjects complement each other perfectly, and she is thoroughly enjoying both the academic challenge and the new friendships she has already made.

Having been home educated for the previous two years, we couldn’t be prouder of the determination, independence, and positive attitude she has shown in returning to a classroom environment.

Her new friends are already fascinated by her swimming journey and have enthusiastically appointed themselves as her personal cheer squad!

New Milestones

Life is certainly moving fast. Reese is celebrating her 17th birthday and is now looking forward to learning to drive, which is both exciting and a little daunting for the rest of us!

She has also begun her Level 2 Swimming Teaching qualification, something she is thoroughly enjoying and which is helping her develop new skills both in and out of the pool.

Looking Ahead to the New Season

If anything, swimming is only accelerating. The coming season is set to be one of the most important yet.

Another training camp in Tenerife is planned, although rising costs mean the financial commitment is greater than ever.

Looking further ahead, conversations are beginning around university opportunities, including potential fully funded scholarship programmes in the USA, which bring exciting possibilities. To obtain these offers an agent is required to source the best opportunities and this will come at an additional cost but with a huge saving for her in the long run.

The next two years will play a crucial role in shaping Reese’s swimming future, and we would be honoured to have your continued support as part of that journey.

I thoroughly enjoy networking events and meeting new and interesting people. Reese’s focus for the upcoming season is as follows: South East Summer Regionals, qualification events for Nationals and hopefully GB Nationals. There will be many competitions in between these events to gain the qualification times to be able to compete. Updates to follow!!
