…Is Not A Bore
This is directly from a forest meditation, so forgive me if you already know what I am going to say – but it is for this reason I am writing this article for you. I feel you all smiling at the simplicity of its worth. I remember the awe when realisation first reached many volunteers, patients, and frightened viewers in many places. It is, however, in my humble opinion, the most memorable of all.
I would like you to first position yourself as to your question. If you need something and will be moving during this time, either sit or arrange yourself with a straightened back, with no awareness of anything other than that beautiful straight back – long and elegant – with the chin slightly tucked. [Remember, we will be experiencing the breath, so do try to feel that wonder of the straight back]. Take a few breaths to enhance yourself with a totally empty body – it’s the Self we are looking for, not the organs. We can worry about those at another time. A few breaths through the nose, a good lion’s roar through the mouth, and then a gentle push out of the toxins, which you have invited in to your precious Self. Allow the diaphragm to do the work, for you have no more martial arts and gym workouts to do tonight.
If this is a comfortable seat, probably sitting or kneeling in some fashion which allows the diaphragm to move and the lung to fill, do stay a while with me. You can imagine the voice, but I would prefer you, first, to enjoy the beauty of your own voice. Place a hand across the wrist, and at the point at which your index finger lays, close your mind and swipe your hand a little, all the way to the base of your wrist. If you feel a stubborn sensation, one of sedation or stagnation, feel – really feel – to the top of the finger. Hold it just for a short time, remembering those beautiful breaths which are now choosing to open the shell and leave you calmly in the wind.
If you are in the woods or in a field, perhaps the edge of the lashings of a freezing seaside rock, remember how we did it at the beginning. There is no cold unless you dislike the wind. The woods have no pests unless you decide to fill your Self with a hatred of that which controls you – Self, Mind, and Matter. No, we are beyond this. We, our mind and our Self, are filled by that which we decide to consciously fill them with. Pain and distress, laughter and love – we all need to experience them to be able to know how other people can be helped. For the time you are throwing the chord out to a needy Being.
The beauty of My Self, My chord, My care & My Love for you has brought you here.
You have no need of the shell of organs right now, but you may wish to scan over the body you have been living in. If it is dark or shining, glowing in abundance and here for a question or doubt, let’s start with a quick scan. Allow your mind to look inside the body throughout each and every space – from head to toe, glutes and pelvis, and from shoulder [not forgetting the Breath we have taught you via the diaphragm to fill the lung and control what goes into it].
You may have realised that you have not checked over the top of the skull, so feel that now is the time to allow the mind, the consciousness, the Self to simply join in with that beautiful spine and feel over the head.
On checking all is well, feel yourself to FEEL all that is around you and BREATHE in the energy which surrounds you. Feel all that you are making a conscious choice to fill your Self with as you feel the unanswered doubt or emotional debris which has brought you here today.
Allow the Breathing diaphragm to allow the liberation of your Self to experience an excitement.
