My Favourite Things To Do…
Julie Andrews sang the famous song “my favourite things” in The Sound of Music, which has always resonated with me because it was a list of the most wonderful things that maybe I wouldn’t have considered. How incredible to be so specific that it’s not just roses, but raindrops on roses. It’s not just the whole kitten, it’s the whiskers.
What if we really thought about our favourite things.
Specifically favourite things to do, I like hiking, but what about hiking do you love? Is it nature or the weather or the silence? I love swimming! Is it the water or the location of the water?
Break down all the things that you like to do & get as specific as possible. This could lead to you finding more of those moments. So, even though you might not be able to hike, maybe by sitting in nature for five minutes that day affords you a similar pleasure. Life is all about finding these pleasurable moments and really sitting in them and feeling and absorbing them.
Slow down & take them in!
Write what your favourite things to do are and why they are your favourite. Then circle or write down the common themes.
