You have probably read several articles, social media posts or even books about the power of visualisation.
But what does it entail?
What is, in fact, the ability to visualise a dream, a wish, an outcome?
We all have in us the ability to see in our own mind an image of what we expect could be a better future, a better result, a better outcome.
And we may find ourselves strongly wishing for it to come true.
Like the genie in the lamp, we believe that if we try enough, imagine enough, our wish will eventually happen.
But the genie resides elsewhere: not in the lamp, but in our mind.

It’s our mind that can unlock the key to a healthier life, a happier state and more abundance and ease in our lives.
However, some people argue that they are unable to “see”, that they are unable to receive or that they have already tried but it simply didn’t happen for them.
Would you consider for a moment that maybe, in this case, the wish was not strong enough?
That the person’s own mind had a hidden subconscious agenda, that envisages some kind of benefit in staying put in the familiar place they already knew?
Our minds can play tricks on us: they can manifest excuses, situations and problems simply to prevent certain wishes from happening.
Why then, would the person wish for something else?
You see… inside our minds, two separate forces coexist: one is conscious, rational or emotional, but mostly aware of what is going on in our lives during our waking state.
The other one works behind the scenes.
It strongly influences the outcome of our efforts, not only in visualisation but in life overall.
It’s the unconscious mind: the master and commander of what we really hold dear and important, even if we are not aware of what those things are.
We may say we want to go out, but in fact, we prefer the comfort of staying home.
We may say we want to be rich, so we don’t have to work anymore, when in fact, we are afraid of success and riches.
Sometimes it’s like rowing with one paddle to the right and another paddle to the left: we end up staying precisely in the same place, the old familiar self.

Once I heard a Buddhist monk say that we may be suffering, but it’s a familiar sensation so we prefer to adjust just enough to make the pain tolerable, but not enough in order to avoid pain completely when that too was a possible outcome.
Until we have the strength, the willpower and the determination to go against this massive flow of hidden forces that operate in our unconscious minds, we will feel powerless to bring positive changes to our lives.
And no reasoning will be enough to convince us about what is best for us if we truly, deeply don’t believe in our own recipe.
So, what can we do?
How can we overcome this wishing for something on one side and boycotting our efforts on the other?
The answer lies, once again, in the mind.
The same mind that continues to create and recreate our “reality”, meaning the way we perceive ourselves and the world.
In our minds lie the keys to our success, for our dreams to come to fruition, for our bodies to be able to harmonise and heal.
We just need to tell our unconscious mind a different story, teach it a different belief.
By installing a new mindset, it’s definitely possible to change the outcome, and have a happy ending to this story.

Hypnotherapy is the possibility I know best, but there are other options too, depending on how fast or how willing you are to change.
As you know and start to understand the hidden agendas in your own mind, you will not only gain clarity but also find the best way to overcome whatever doesn’t suit you or your personal development.
And because your unconscious mind learns by repetition, you will tell your mind a new story, a better one, a positive one.
You will definitely benefit from it.
I wish for your dreams to finally come true and for you to be able to live the life you deserve.
You are worth it!
