Gratitude Glasses

Every morning I receive a text from my daughter that says “Hugs” or “Are you awake?” As I’m lying in bed with my darling Maltese, Chai, next to me, I wait for my daughter to appear once I’ve responded. She climbs into my bed and hugs me!

What more could I ask for?

My two favourite things with me for those few peaceful morning moments. Heaven! I’m then able to go to my wardrobe and choose from some awesome clothes, hats and jewellery before making a cup of tea – ready to begin my day. I do not take these things lightly. I ensure I’m aware of how these simple things enable me to function and begin my day in a safe way. It’s not always been like this. I’ve had days where it’s been too hard to function or get up. Where I’ve been so worried about finances or my health I couldn’t function. Life isn’t always easy and it has its ups and downs. There are days when my daughter has a hard day and I need to be the person that supports her and helps guide her to feel grateful for the small pleasures. It doesn’t stop! It’s a constant work in progress to be grateful.

Take Yourself On A Date!

Dedicate some time for just you. Have a cup of tea, read a book, or think.
Activity – take yourself somewhere. Go to a library or an art exhibition.
Treat yourself to something special. Could be a sweet treat or a new journal. Something small but meaningful.
Exercise your brain!
