A Journey of Release & Restoration
I recently had the opportunity to experience a truly unique therapy with Hector Wells, an experienced osteopath and cranial sacral practitioner. Hector Wells BSc (Hons) DO focuses on paediatric manual therapy, low back pain, sciatica and manual therapy for mental well-being, combining scientific understanding of the ‘Dive Reflex’ with a deeply intuitive approach to healing.

A Gentle Introduction
At the start of the session, Hector explained what to expect in a clear and reassuring way, which immediately put me at ease. He also demonstrated some of the techniques, showing the flexibility in my legs — I had no idea I was that flexible! There is nothing quite like some copper and water to loosen muscles and ligaments, and it made the therapy feel accessible and fascinating from the very beginning.
Addressing Long-Held Grief
I came to Hector seeking support for grief I had bottled up over the years. After identifying specific events and the ages when they occurred, we focused on these moments during the therapy. I didn’t need to disclose the details; simply directing my attention to these experiences was enough to allow the process to unfold.
The Science Behind the Therapy

Hector’s body water therapy is based on the diamagnetic properties of human tissues. Using hands, copper, or water-filled devices, the session activates the Dive Reflex, promoting deep relaxation, lowering heart rate and reducing stress. The therapy combines gentle touch, biophysical interactions and multi-hand techniques, creating a therapeutic window for the body to release tension, reset the nervous system, and respond effectively to treatment.
This approach works by guiding the body into a powerful “parasympathetic state” through activation of the natural “Dive Reflex.” In this deeply relaxed state, long-held body tension sinks to a level previously unattainable. It feels like a profound “decompression,” where the grip of the sympathetic nervous system eases, allowing the body to soften, reset, and restore a natural sense of calm.
Refined over Hector’s 35-year career, this therapy offers a secure and effective path to recovery for both body and mind.
My Experience once treated
The effects were immediate and profound:
- Emotional & physical lightness: I felt noticeably lighter as soon as I got off the practitioner’s table.
- Emotional release: On the way home, I had a blubber, emotional and tired, unsure exactly why I was crying.
- Grounding support: That evening, a hug from my husband helped me feel settled and grounded.
- A little self-care: Some retail therapy lifted my spirits further.
- Physical relief: That night, for the first time in years, I slept with no back pain, which has not returned.
A Transformative Approach
Hector Wells’ therapies reminded me that our bodies are intelligent and responsive. By combining subtle, science-backed touch with focus on both emotional and physical blockages, his methods help clients feel restored, realigned and profoundly calm.
Whether you are seeking relief from chronic tension, emotional release, or long-standing trauma, Hector’s body water therapy and Emotional Release Technique offer a gentle yet powerful path to healing.
Hector is keen to emphasise
The Dive Reflex, once activated, places the body into a deeply relaxed state. In this state, the tight sympathetic tension generated by a traumatic event can surface in parts of the body that would not usually hold such relaxation.
This creates a kind of mismatch: the emotional tension is no longer aligned with the new physical state produced by the Dive Reflex. The imbalance makes the stored body tension unstable. When this physical tension collapses, the upsetting thought can no longer recreate the same sensation of connection. As a result, it often feels as though you are free of the historic event, the grief or anxiety simply fades, and the experience becomes too distant to trigger the same response.
What makes this release especially powerful is its predictability. It consistently produces results without requiring conversation, disclosure or revisiting the details of the traumatic event.
Interestingly, the Dive Reflex can be activated by diamagnetic materials. Water is both diamagnetic and dielectric, while copper is diamagnetic with a strong atomic profile. The body appears to interpret copper as being similar to water, which may explain why proximity to copper can also trigger the Dive Reflex. Other diamagnetic substances, such as gold, may have similar effects.
