At the beginning of a new year, we welcome renewed hopes, wishes and expectations.

There is a freshness, an optimism in the air — the feeling that everything is possible, not because in the previous year we had less possibilities, but simply because we didn't believe they were possible.

The importance of our belief system in our lives is huge.

We may say it is our invisible guide, that allows us to progress towards what we believe to be true.

If our beliefs are empowering, they will lead us to positive outcomes, as they allow us to pursue our goals, dreams and wishes without the fear of failing or staying behind.

However, many of our beliefs are not like that; on the contrary, they generate extreme caution, procrastination and fear, they make us limited instead of limitless.

They end up shaping our actions — whether to move or to stand still, either to act or procrastinate, and they end up making us feel either successful or resentful at the end of (yet) another year.

The new year brings us this opportunity: to connect once again with our inner values, our inner beliefs and realign our thoughts, wishes and actions with what we want most.

What would you like to achieve this year?

What do you feel is keeping you stuck or holding you back?

Would you like to overcome limiting beliefs?

Because if you don't feel the inner drive to change yourself, it will not happen.

Choosing to change is the first and most important step, followed by action, because if you don´t change yourself first, you cannot expect different results throughout the year.

It´s like wishing to lose weight but not changing the diet and starting a healthier lifestyle.

The chances of your goal happening become very slim.

So, what can you do in order to start a new year with a new you?

First you need to identify what aspects of yourself you would like to improve: it could be your self-confidence, self-love, your relationships, your health, your finances, your work.

After that you need to get a clear image of what you would like the outcome to be: maybe it´s to feel more confident and empowered, or live a more harmonious and balanced life.

Just picture in your mind exactly what you would like the outcome to be.

You can write it down, do a drawing or a vision board, cutting images from magazines to get your goal as clear and real as possible.

Then identify why your current beliefs and behaviours are blocking you from achieving them.

It´s now time to find the root cause that lies beneath each belief, each value, and each behaviour.

When you find the root cause, you can change the meaning you attribute to it or make it lose its power over you so you can become a new person and experience new results in your life.

You can use psychotherapy, meditation, contemplation or hypnotherapy to look deeper into yourself and your belief system.

Whatever you choose, it is going to help you move in a better direction.

You must feel what resonates with you most and follow one of the paths that will help you get to your desired goals.

I wish you an excellent new year!

May all your beneficial wishes come true!
